We currently support two forms of car park access – licence plate recognition (LPR) or credit card. Enjoy simple, ticketless access and a range of accepted payment types. Drive-up on the day or prebook online.

Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) access

LPR enabled locations

  • P60 short stay (currently drive-up only)
  • P180 short stay (currently drive-up only)
  • Premium covered – Level 2 to 4 (in the Transport Hub)
  • Standard covered – D
  • Standard uncovered – E
  • Park & Ride South
  • Park & Ride South – Fast Park

What is LPR technology?
Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) technology uses cameras to automatically read and recognise your vehicle’s licence plate when you enter and exit the parking lot. This eliminates the need for tickets, making parking faster and more convenient.

Entering an LPR car park
Simply drive up and the LPR camera will record your licence plate and time of entry. The barrier arm will then open automatically, normally within 5 seconds.

Exiting an LPR car park
If you are a drive-up customer, please complete your payment in the car park prior to exit. When exiting in your vehicle, drive up to the barrier the LPR camera will read your licence plate and the barrier arm should open automatically.

Credit card access

Credit card enabled locations

  • Premium covered - R
  • Standard uncovered - K
  • Standard uncovered - L
  • Standard+ – M
  • Standard prebooked - O
  • Park & Ride North

Entering with your card
Simply drive-up to the entry barrier and tap or insert a supported credit or debit card into the card reader. The barrier arm should open upon the successful reading of your card.

Supported credit and debit cards for access
The credit card you tap or insert at the barrier entry must be a physical card with a chip. Visa and Mastercard debit cards will also work. Payment apps e.g. Apple Pay & Google Pay will not work, nor will cards stored on your mobile device.

Exiting with your card
If you are a drive-up customer, please complete your payment in the car park prior to exit. Simply approach the exit barrier in your vehicle, tap the same credit card you used to enter, and the barrier will open.

Potential access issues

Barrier not opening when entering

  • Check the instructions at the barrier.
  • If you’re entering a credit card access car park, check you’re presenting a supported card.
  • Drive-up customers can press the button for a ticket.
  • If you’ve prebooked online and you have a QR code embedded in your booking confirmation e-mail, scan the code by presenting your mobile phone or a printout at the barrier.
  • If the barrier still doesn’t raise, hold the intercom button until you hear a phone ring to talk to customer support.

Ensuring a match to your online booking

  • When entering an LPR enabled carpark, the camera will read your licence plate and link it to your online booking. Please ensure you arrive in the same vehicle you registered with in your booking.
  • When entering a credit card enabled car park your inserted card will link to your online booking. Please ensure you arrive using the card you used for payment or nominated during your online booking.
  • Intending to drive a different vehicle or use a different card? Prior to arrival, go to manage my booking and update your booking details. If you have issues amending your booking, please contact customer support.

Don’t have a credit or debit card?
No problem! Look for Standard+ - M and Standard prebooked – O near Domestic (these two parks can actually be entered by pulling a ticket at the barrier). Or find an LPR enabled car park near International, any of these car parks will allow you to both enter and pay without a credit or debit card.

Overstaying your prebooked time allocation
If you’ve ended up staying longer than your allocated prebooked time, overstay fees should be paid prior to returning to your vehicle. You can pay at a pay station or with mobile pay if they’re available in your carpark. Alternatively you can also pay at the barrier.
