Work or travelling to the airport? There are several public transport services that operate to and from Auckland Airport. See the options below to determine which service best suits your needs.

Auckland Transport

The Auckland Transport website is where you'll find everything you need to know about getting around Auckland on buses, trains and ferries.

Use the Auckland Transport online journey planner to make every trip easy. The journey planner will advise what routes are available, and provide times, fares and maps for your trips. Bus, train and ferry information is also available by phoning the Auckland Transport contact centre on +64 9 366 6400.

Train-Bus Services

The AirportLink bus leaves from bus stop B at the domestic terminal and bus stop A in the transport hub at the international terminal. Look for the public transport signage.

  • At Puhinui Station you can catch a train to anywhere along the Southern Line and Eastern Line
  • The AirportLink operates every 10 minutes from 4.30am to 12.40am, 7 days a week.
  • The AirportLink bus leaves from bus stop B at the domestic terminal and bus stop A at the international terminal. Look out for the orange signage.

38 bus service

  • The 38 bus operates between Auckland Airport and Onehunga via Mangere Town Centre.
  • It operates every 15 to 20 minutes, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, during the day.
  • At the terminals, it stops at the same bus stops as the AirportLink service.

Tickets

You will need an AT HOP card to use the AirportLink and 38 bus services

  • Buy online
  • AT HOP cards are available at Auckland Airport from a vending machine outside door 4 (domestic terminal), Take Home Convenience (international terminal) or at the vending machine at Bus stop A in the transport hub.
  • View a full list of AT HOP retailers.
  • Your AT HOP card can also be used on train services
  • With AT’s fare zone system, you’ll pay one fare for your entire journey, even if you use two or more bus and train services. Find out how much your journey will cost
  • Cash tickets for the train can also be purchased at Puhinui Station



Other Bus Operators

SkyDrive

SkyDrive (operated by Ritchies Transport) offers an express shuttle service between Auckland Airport and SkyCity in Central Auckland.

The first bus leaves the SkyCity bus terminal at 5:00am direct to the airport. Buses run every 30 minutes with the last bus from the domestic terminal at 22:30pm. Buses leave from bus stop A at the domestic terminal and bus stop E - Bus to City, at the transport hub outside the international terminal. Tickets may be purchased directly from the bus driver (card payment only), or via the SkyDrive website at skydrive.co.nz.


Intercity

Intercity bus passengers can also buy tickets online for their journey to the airport. Buses are located at bus stop E - Bus to City, at the transport hub outside the international terminal. Visit intercity.co.nz to book.
